Riparian vegetation monitoring

The vegetation on the banks and in Dutch ditches and canals is worth monitoring!!

In the Dutch manmade landscape riparian vegetation and aquatic plants play a major role in regulating water quality, biodiversity as well as recreational aspects in swimming and boating. Also, some plant species may become invasive (e.g. Azolla and Floating Pennywort).

NEO’s service gives water managers risk based information on quantity and quality of the vegetation on numerous moments during the year for all water surfaces wider than 1 meter. We provide alert messages, graphs, images, etc. The service runs on Open Data satellite imagery and AI-based analytics.
